a resale Shop with some Heart

We strive to be a resource in our community by using The Nifty Thrifty as a platform to pay-it-forward with the charities we support, the goods we handle, and the environment we protect.

Our Staff

Executive Director

Cathy joined the Graham Crisis Center in February 2020 as Director of Operations and became the Executive Director in September 2020. Prior to coming to Graham, Cathy served as a local pastor for the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, from 2007 until retiring in February 2020.

In the church ministry world, Cathy served in large Metroplex churches and smaller rural churches. She also spent about six years working with the Collin County Council on Family Violence to raise awareness and provide education on domestic violence to churches. From that time forward she has had a passion for people and for programs that impact the way people live.

Prior to answering God’s call to ministry, Cathy worked in the legal field for over 30 years.

Cathy is married to Brad and they have two sons, Mitch Murray and Lance Partridge, one daughter, Heather Lee, and three grandchildren. Cathy and Brad are both very active people, and especially enjoy spending their time together with family and friends.

Store Manager

Hugh was born in Denver City, Texas, “the year we touched down on the moon,” so if you want to figure out his age, you can do that for yourself. Hugh went to Texas A&M, graduating in the class of ’92. He loves to travel which is either why he came an airline pilot for Northwest Airlines for 9 years, or is the result of being an airline pilot.

Hugh most recently lived in San Diego, California, before returning to Graham to be with family and live in a wonderful community. Hugh has a 12-year old son, Oliver, who lives in Dallas and parents, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins who live in Graham.

Hugh came to work for the Graham Crisis Center as The Nifty Thrifty Store Manager in April 2021.

Facilities Manager

Brad is a natural helper and fixer. He enjoys doing things like repairing the vacuum cleaners that are donated so that can put them in The Nifty Thrifty and tracking down leaks in the ceiling. Brad is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and, prior to his retirement and move to Graham, spent his career in various aspects of the automotive industry, including Standard Motor Products where he won the National Salesman of the Year Award.

As Cathy’s bio states, Brad and Cathy are married and have children and grandchildren. However, Brad would also like to boast of additional family members–his three fur babies: Annie, a Goldendoodle, Emmie, a Labradoodle, and Dasher, a Yorkie.
